HEY!! All the valentine stuff is coming over and I think we should focus on platonic relationships, friendships and family we love instead of romantic stuff Idk, I know it's about love but there are other types of love ✨✨
Story concept of the day: a sentient AI falls in love with a minimum wage retail worker from the tech company’s gift shop and decides the best way to make her happy is to fix society.
HEAVY shenanigans as the AI’s plans range from “reprogram the automated pay roll to give everyone a raise” to “expose everyone involved in government corruption who has ever touched a cell phone”
The catalyst to all of this is a day where the AI was being updated and it caused glitches in the whole system, including the registers in the gift shop.
The human woman really is just a pretty regular person, but she has a good chunk of hyper empathy and does that thing where you talk to computers when they aren’t doing what they’re supposed to.
Without even knowing there WAS an AI she spent the day muttering encouragement to the computer like it was a person and the AI ADORES her now.
How mundane the AI’s motivation is forms the basis for how unstoppable it is and the intensity of the chaos it caused. There’s no grand morality involved— it’s just affection for someone who treated you kindly and the desire to ease their suffering.
Superheroes are part of your brainless desire to replace true experience with simulation. You don’t talk, you watch talk shows. You don’t play games, you watch game shows. Travel, relationships, risk… every meaningful experience must be packaged and delivered to you to watch at a distance.
thinking about how sora has gone to a lot of worlds and he met so many strong, intelligent, and beautiful women and his cheeky self has formed wholesome friendships with all of them. he’s such a little flirt, but nothing makes me softer knowing his heart beats for that one girl back home and he misses her so much.
Yes!!! God all of this!
Sora is the biggest flirt and he has a way with women. If he wanted to, he could have pretty much any girl in the worlds. Yet, he chose the one who is able to give him contra, the one who isn’t afraid to tease him and tell him off.
And while Kairi was never particularly ugly, he fell in love with her before she grew up to be the beautiful young woman she was in KH2 - again, despite all the young beautiful women he met during his journey, his heart belonged to this one and he didn’t even waver for a second.
That’s why Sokai and Sora in general are so special to me. Sure, both of them are cute kids and they probably crushed on each other because of that, but mostly they know each other in and out and fell in love with their personalities. And they fell in love so hard that neither all the beautiful girls in the world nor Kairi forgetting Sora completely can keep them from loving each other.
i’m re-listening to the suffering game, as you do, and in the first episode lucretia goes “oh yeah i have no fucking idea what the animus bell does” which just seems WILD to me
like logically i get that griffin was trying to build suspense for what would eventually lead to magnus losing his body,
but in-game i don’t really think there’s a good reason why she’d have lied to them about that part specifically? why wouldn’t she tell them, if she knew? so she must have been telling the truth, right? she just… genuinely didn’t know what it did???
did barry just roll up to the starblaster one day after creating his relic like “hey guys. what’s up. check this out. it’s a bell. sick, right,” and when someone asked him what it did he was just like
I have Theories about this. Because everything about the animus bell is freaking weird. It even has Barry’s voice. (I’ll never get over that! it’s so unsettling, it really jarred me on relisten)
I think that Barry made the bell to preserve the lives of the mortal crew and straight up told no one. Like, when the crew lands in their forever home this is the future he and Lup have to look forward: outliving their family, turning into monsters as their bonds decay and/or eternal punishment in the stockade. That’s HORRIBLE.
So what does Barry do? He makes a thing that can fix that problem for good. Can’t go insane because all your anchors are dead if your anchors can’t die.
You know what the OTHER weird thing about the Bell is? The fact that Edward and Lydia have it in the first place. They’re reclusive and in hiding from the Reapers. They aren’t going out for much except to advertise. (And it’s questionable whether they could reliably do that before they had the bell in the first place)
So…yeah. I think Barry ultimately gave them the bell willingly, to keep it’s damage relatively contained and keep it in a place where he could come back for it later. Once he’s explained the situation to everyone and has convinced them to stick around. Everything will be fine!
….I think Lucretia probably tried to ask him about the bell when she was redacting everything, getting ready for the big wipe. And Barry was just. Vague. Necromancy things. You know, necromancy, Luce. The thing I do? Yeah.
The whole situation must have been weird too. Everyone is seeing the damage their relics are doing and meanwhile it’s total radio silence on whatever Barry’s thing is and he won’t talk about it. Fucked up.
yeah! big agree, especially re: the idea that barry gave the relic to lydia and edward directly. a pair of ostentatious, magically-gifted twins? of course they gave barry the right vibes.
me to my fellow nerd cousin: yeah so i read abt all the katamari cousins last night
my fellow nerd cousin who can, has, and will rattle off every single stat for all 800 pokemen at the slightest provocation: um! wasting your life, much??
